Get your bike back on the road in no time...
Getting your bike back on the road is fraught with pitfalls the size of London's potholes. It needs sorting out.
Enter Jeyda Heselton, aged 27, founder of fettle; “The idea came about when working at JustPark, on their mobility strategy. With car usage set to decline, how could we repurpose the role of parking spaces in the future?
A clear answer appeared... bikes.”
"The data was staggering. Within 8 years, bikes are projected to outsell cars in Europe by two-to-one. But we’re heading into a crisis, with 1 in 10 local bike shops closing each year."
“Having always worked in tech start-ups, with the mission of making the customer's journey as frictionless as possible, I was shocked at the experience cyclists had, gathering first-hand the long queues, head-scratching jargon, hidden extras, bill shock, inconvenient locations and unnecessary hassle.”
And so fettle was launched. With our crusade to reinvent repair; to shake up previous practices, to put the 'service' back into servicing and lead bike maintenance into a new era - for all types of rider.
In the 18 months since we launched fettle is the UK’s fastest growing bike repair network with five workshops across London, a team 25+ strong of world-class, full-time mechanics and hundreds of bikes serviced each month. Modernising the bike industry, our faff-free bike repair and servicing provides the fastest, simplest and most convenient way to keep all London’s cyclists safe in the saddle.
Combining old school expertise with tech innovation, cyclists simply book in their bike or e-bike online or through the easy to use app. Users have the choice to drop their bike off at one of five convenient bike workshops across London or for just £10 Fettle will pick up, service and deliver the bike back to their owners – simple!
And we're not stopping there.
"The goal is 90 workshops all over the UK. I love the idea of coming back home to the North too; Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield - all have fond places in my heart. They haven't seen the investment in infrastructure London has, so to support the growth of commuting by bike in those areas would be pretty special."
